Angeline "Kiki" Cappony While in college, Kiki was the recipient of financial help, and she'll never forget how appreciative she was. "I have a high regard for people who work hard, earn their money and share it," she says. "So, I decided if I ever get some extra money, I wanted to do the same. I was helped. So it's my turn." Kiki was a physical education teacher at Hutchinson High School and founded the school's Saltshakers drill team. After retirement, she has enjoyed playing golf, learning the piano and volunteering at various organizations. "This is home. I've enjoyed the community very much," Kiki says. "The community has done a lot for me and hopefully I can do something for it." Kiki turned to the Hutchinson Community Foundation becuase she wanted to ensure that the wealth she leaves behind remains in the community she loves. Her endowed fund will pay out set percentages of income every year to designated recipients including her college alma mater and her church, as well as several local oragnizations she has chosen. Because of that thoughtful estate planning, worthy organizations serving the needs of people in many ways will benefit for years to come. As Kiki explains, you don't have to be wealthy to do it: "I don't have much money, but whatever I do have, I want to give back to the community." |
